![]() As we wrote last year, “In this time of unprecedented global danger, concerted action is required, and every second counts.” That is just as true today. Because it may well be.īut the world can be made safer. ![]() Instead, leaders and citizens around the world should take this statement as a stark warning and respond urgently, as if today were the most dangerous moment in modern history. Our decision should not be taken as a sign that the international security situation has eased. Today, we once again set the Doomsday Clock at 90 seconds to midnight because humanity continues to face an unprecedented level of danger. Last year, we expressed our heightened concern by moving the Clock to 90 seconds to midnight-the closest to global catastrophe it has ever been-in large part because of Russian threats to use nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine. That is why we set the Doomsday Clock at two minutes to midnight in 2019 and at 100 seconds to midnight in 2022. The members of the Science and Security Board have been deeply worried about the deteriorating state of the world. Meanwhile, rapid and worrisome developments in the life sciences and other disruptive technologies accelerated, while governments made only feeble efforts to control them. In 2023, Earth experienced its hottest year on record, and massive floods, wildfires, and other climate-related disasters affected millions of people around the world. China, Russia, and the United States are all spending huge sums to expand or modernize their nuclear arsenals, adding to the ever-present danger of nuclear war through mistake or miscalculation. The war in Ukraine and the widespread and growing reliance on nuclear weapons increase the risk of nuclear escalation. I am trying to create a timer in DashBoard that counts down to a time.Ominous trends continue to point the world toward global catastrophe. If it helps you, I replied to Malcolm in this thread what I am trying to do. I changed the type of clock to "Count Time Until" but I'd like to create a field in DashBoard where I could enter the "Stop Time", this is where I am getting stuck as I don't know what variable to replace in the source. I think I sort of got it but I am not sure how to edit the time I wish for it to count to. function updateStopTimeFromText(timerID, text) tValue('cddisplay', 0, event.getDisplay()) var stopValue = params.getValue('cdstop', 0) updateStopTimeFromText('cdtimer', stopValue) HH:mm:ss var stopValue = params.getValue('cdstop', 0) updateStopTimeFromText('cdtimer', stopValue) UpdateStopTimeFromText('cdtimer', stopValue) Var stopValue = params.getValue('cdstop', 0) tValue('cddisplay', 0, event.getDisplay()) Var parsedStartValue = timer.getFormat().parseObject(text) Var timer = ogscript.getTimerManager().getTimer(timerID) ![]() If you keep this, you will want to make sure its w.format property uses the same time format as the timer.įunction updateStopTimeFromText(timerID, text) Use script to grab the timer's "formatter" and use it to convert your text into a value the timer can understand (that's in the "Update" method)įor some extra ease-of-use, I have also set the widget for the text field to our built-in time picker.I have attached an example panel that takes a time of day (24-hour clock) in a text field and updates the stop value of the timer to that value. For example, our show ends at 17:58:30, is there a way I can create a field in DashBoard where I can type this time in (or any time, depending on the show's out time) & then press a "Start" button & have a countdown timer to the inputed time? Thanks so much! I am trying to create a timer in DashBoard that counts down to a time. Start there and if you still have questions, post them here. There are methods you can use to set the start time as well. You essentially have to create a timer where the start time is the remaining time, and the stop time is 0:00:00. Timers can be used show you: the current time how much time has passed since the start of your production how much time remains until a specific event occurs other clocks This video shows you how to put a timer in your panel, and how to configure it. Having a display of different times is handy to have in a panel. Subject: Timer countdown to specific time in Dashboard
